The Greenhouse,

is about growing matters, focusing on my greenhouse and potager. I grow mainly vegetables, herbs and spices but flowers have their given place too. From seed to table, this is the nursery for my living food, we cook a lot of delicious food and I say a potager is the cook’s best friend. The greenhouse makes it possible to grow essential, colourful, warmth loving fruit and vegetables even in this climate such as tomatoes and chillies. My main blog is Tyras Trädgård/Tyra's Garden. Sunday

And there were light....finally

After a long period of grey and gloomy January weather the sun came out today! It really makes all the difference. I certainly get in a better mood when the sun is shining. Today is the day that we clear all our Christmas decorations away, it is the 20th day after christmas. It is also Knut's day it is his name day. Name days are a tradition of attaching personal names to each day of the year, and celebrating the association of particular days with those for whom that day is named. Congratulations to all that is called Knut. It is a very old name and I don't know anyone called Knut. However some 1000 years ago there were Kings called Knut and even a Saint Knut.

It was really pleasant in the greenhouse today...hm a forgot to check the thermometer.

Sunshine in and Christmas out!

Have a nice day!

TYRA

Happy Knut's Day to you, too. Isn't it wonderful when the sun shines? Blue sky! I love it.

Oh and look at your green grass! Who would know it is Winter there with those photos? You know I am in love with your greenhouse... I could look at pictures of it everyday and not grow weary of it!

I like the way your tradition of taking Christmas down is a certain day... kind of takes the pressure off. We take ours down right at the new year when it would be nice to rest up for a few days from all the celebrations.

Enjoy your weekend... AND your sunshine.

Really longing for spring. I feel just the same when the sun comes into the house at the moment.

Hello from Southern California - I found you via Willow's blog and have enjoyed viewing your wonderful photos a few times now. Your greenhouse is beautiful, and so are the things you post on your other blogs....

I would like to add your blog to my sidebar - is that OK with you?

Hello Tyra,
It is such a relief to see sun again - isn't it?
I can't believe that clouds come one day and do not go away for 2 weeks :(

How can we be not having depressions?

Happy Knut's Day anyway :)

Hello from France
I find your blog few days ago and I fall in love for your greenhouse, it's one of the best I never see , so beautifull with snow and sun and so cosy inside.
I plan to build one in my garden, a green one, but after all perhaps I'll change my idea and buid it white...

Luc ( near Cognac in France)
sorry for my poor english !!!
