The Greenhouse,

is about growing matters, focusing on my greenhouse and potager. I grow mainly vegetables, herbs and spices but flowers have their given place too. From seed to table, this is the nursery for my living food, we cook a lot of delicious food and I say a potager is the cook’s best friend. The greenhouse makes it possible to grow essential, colourful, warmth loving fruit and vegetables even in this climate such as tomatoes and chillies. My main blog is Tyras Trädgård/Tyra's Garden. Happy New Year!

It is certainly not warm in the greenhouse now, but it's cosy. Now and then I take a break and sneak out to the greenhouse to spend a few 'moments' of quiet and peacefulness.

The Auricula that is in bloom gets some water. PhotoHunt - light. More Photohunt in Tyra's Garden

Now I want to wish you all a Happy New Year 2008!

....

Tyra

Tuesday

December light.

The wonderful and soft light of a December morning. It's a lot of gray days generally in December but when the sun comes out it is magical. There isn't much to do in the garden in December, I went out yesterday to tidy up a bit in the greenhouse and to decorate it with some garlands, the greenhouse looks really pretty now. I have harvested the last of the chillie fruits now and today I'm going to pick some Kale, Brassica oleracea 'Portland Briggs' and make a warming soup for tonight. Kales and Cabbages are the only edible things that are left in the garden and in the greenhouse I've got the herbs that's it! Ah....well soon we can start all over again. On the 13th of December we celebrate Lucia more about this day in 'Tyra's Garden'

Winter by S. Greenwald
You can sense dread in the trees as winter approaches.
With it’s freezing temperatures, and robbing of the sunlight.
With it’s chilling winds, and blinding storms.
And yet when I look to winter all I see is the beautiful new fallen snow, and the crystals hanging off the sleeping trees.
When I think of winter I see new beginnings, and life put on hold so we can enjoy what we can of this Angelic season I long for the passion that is winter.

Kommentera 'vettja'

Enjoy the wonderful Advent!
