The Greenhouse,

is about growing matters, focusing on my greenhouse and potager. I grow mainly vegetables, herbs and spices but flowers have their given place too. From seed to table, this is the nursery for my living food, we cook a lot of delicious food and I say a potager is the cook’s best friend. The greenhouse makes it possible to grow essential, colourful, warmth loving fruit and vegetables even in this climate such as tomatoes and chillies. My main blog is Tyras Trädgård/Tyra's Garden. Posturing Pumpkin Post - update

My pumpkin stands majestic on the pedestal but just for a few more days. Its days is counted! After I’m through with it I will have served Pumpkin bread, pumpkin soup and the latest suggestion I got from a blog friend ‘garlic flavoured, in the oven roasted pumpkin served with a steak’, that sounds delicious to me….perhaps a glass of red wine. Any more suggestions?

Pumpa-rätterna låter smarriga. Jag har aldrig tillagat pumpa (vågar man erkänna det?) - kanske är det på tiden...?
Kram Katarina

Thanks, dear Tyra, for mentioning my pumpkin, cranberry, apple recipe. Pumpkin pound cake is on the menu for today and wouldn't it be fun to taste and sip together! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Tyra, I am sure Nature Girl will come on here but in case, I thought I would tell you of roasted pumpkin seeds. When we carve the pumpkins here we save the seeds, spread on a cookie sheet, spray with a bit non stick spray and salt. Then bake at a low temperature for a given time and eat the seeds whole-just like hulled sunflower seeds. Very yummy if done right with the right kind of seeds. Sometimes it is hit or miss for me. You can find recipes on the web for roasted pumpkin seeds. One year I ate tons and am not normally a seed eater. They are yummy.

Tina - thank you, I have eaten roasted seeds but never made them by myself, it doesn't sound to hard to do, got to try it! LOL Tyra
